Monica Van Der Zyl, also known as ‘Nikki’, was born on the 27th of April, 1935, in Berlin, Germany.
She was a German actress and voice artist, best known for her work in British film and television.
As a voice artist, Monica is most remembered for her work in many of the James Bond films, including being the voice of the iconic Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress). She worked extensively on ten 007 adventures and was also hired as a coach for Gert Fröbe in “Goldfinger”.
Some of her other notable credits include: “Man in the Moon” (1960), “Call Me Bwana” (1963), “The Blue Max” (1966), “Deadlier Than the Male” (1967), “Carry On Don’t Lose Your Head” (1967), “The Battle of Britain” (1969) and “Jesus of Nazareth” (1977).
She wrote her book ‘For Your Ears Only’, which was released in 2013.
Monica Van Der Zyl passed away on the 6th of March, 2021, aged 85.
In "Live & Let Die", actress Monica 'Nikki' Van Der Zyl provided a partial vocal performance for lead actress Jane Seymour, who portrayed Solitaire.
Nikki's exact lines in "Live & Let Die" are yet to be definitively known, due to her extraordinary talent at mimicking Jane Seymour's voice.
